· Thats the only miner. Too many motors? I think they only have 7 motors. 2 ripper motors, 2 conveyor motors, 2 traction motors, 1 scrubber motor, if equiped. A joy 14-15 which I consider their workhorse is a very tough miner. Don't care a whole lot for a 14-10 though, not a bad miner just don't care for a ripper chain, I prefer a hard head miner.
The continuous miner will continue advancing forward with the sump-shear cycles until there is a reason to stop the advance. In U.S. coal mines, the forward advance is limited by a few factors: the need to ventilate the face to maintain safe methane levels and the need to install roof bolts to prevent roof failure.
The 12CM continuous miners are designed specifically for high seam mining up to 4.6 meters (181 in). Exceptional productivity Using the latest technologies, this machine is designed to provide excellent productivity in rigorous conditions.

· Mining Machinery. The new cutterhead design is being evaluated with existing computer models developed at CSM. The new continuous miner cutterhead will be tested at the Twenty Mile Coal Company's Foidal Creek Mine. Baseline testing with the current cutterhead will also be performed. This paper presents
· The dolerite intrusions in the coal seam meant longwall/shortwall mining was not feasible for the underground operation. When decided to introduce continuous haulage the higher capital investment was only justifiable if high production rates could be sustained. A Long-Airdox continuous haulage system was introduced with a Voest-Alpine ABM30.
· Nevid method of mining Continuous miner A continuous miner is a large steel drum equipped with a tungsten carbide teeth that scraps the coal from the face. It is used along with the quadbolter, shuttle car and LHD's. The continuous miner accounts about 45% of underground production, and also utilize conveyors to transport the removed coal ...
The continuous miner as used in coal mining is a machine capable of breaking, loading, and transferring coal from the seam being extracted on to a suitable transportation system in an almost continuous operation. It is estimated that over 2000 fixed-drum-head continuous miners are being used in the world's mining industry, of which 78 are being ...
· continuous mining machines by remote control, most of them while tramming the continuous miner from "place-to-place". The majority of these accidents have occurred to machine operators or helpers being caught between the right rear of the mining machine and the coal rib. The following practices have proven to reduce hazards:
CONTINUOUS MINER. In underground mining, first and foremost in the modernization process are the machines that extract coal: primarily the continuous and longwall miners. First introduced in the late 1940's, continuous miners provided a quantum leap in the speed and efficiency of extracting coal. Modern versions operate on basically the same ...
